A special thank you to Ms. Belfield for the time, effort, and dedication she put into making these events such a success for our learning community. We are so grateful for all that you do!
Bravo to everyone involved!

The cast and crew had an incredible time presenting Too Many Detectives at the Murder Mansion at the People’s Academy Regional Festival on Saturday. We are especially proud of the many students who were recognized for their excellence in theatrical craft.
As we prepare for States on April 10–11, we’re excited to both cohost and perform at BFA St. Albans. There’s a lot of work ahead, and we appreciate all the support from our community.
Congratulations again to this phenomenal cast and crew!

Our high school students have worked incredibly hard to bring this fun and entertaining production to life, and we would love to see the community there to support them.
Admission is by donation.
We hope to see you there!

Max Howard, Avery Maynard, and Dominic Boucher are all members of the Milton Yellowjackets boys hockey program, representing BFA Fairfax with hard work, dedication, and team spirit on the ice.
We are proud to see our students continue to grow as athletes while representing our school community beyond our campus. Keep up the great work!

Cashton went undefeated on the day, showing determination, skill, and grit on the mat to earn an impressive championship run. 💪🔥
We are proud to celebrate this achievement and the hard work that continues to represent BFA Fairfax and the Nomadic Yeti’s Wrestling Club so well. Way to go, Cashton! 👏🐾

Bellows Free Academy Fairfax student-athlete Josie Riggs continues to excel on the slopes, showing dedication, determination, and a strong competitive spirit throughout the ski season. Her hard work and commitment to training have led to impressive performances, while her sportsmanship and school pride make her a strong representative of BFA Fairfax athletics. ✨🎿
Josie Riggs, of Fletcher, a sophomore at BFA-Fairfax, has had a stellar first season racing independently on the high school circuit. Josie finished 8th overall in the high School state championship Giant Slalom event, and 5th place overall in the slalom event, just behind Maddie. Josie also qualified for the Vermont High School Eastern team and helped the team earn the top spot this past weekend at Attitash.
Josie has also continued to succeed in club racing, representing Smuggler’s Notch Ski Club. At the State Championships for club racing last week in Stowe, sponsored by the Vermont Alpine Racing Association (VARA), Josie skied to a 6th place position, earning a spot to the US Ski and Snowboard Eastern championships at Sugarloaf in Maine on March 18-20. Club racing in Vermont pits local kids like Josie against athletes from elite ski academies in northern Vermont.
Josie says her “greatest accomplishment this year was qualifying for all the state and eastern championships. They all happened to line up one right after another, which was mentally and physically exhausting. However, I’m proud of the work that got me there and the results that came from it.”

The Silver Key is awarded to submissions that demonstrate exceptional creativity, technical skill, and a unique artistic voice. Receiving this recognition is a significant accomplishment, as entries are judged against hundreds of works from students across the region.
We are incredibly proud of this achievement and excited to see where this student’s creativity and passion for the arts will lead next. Please join us in celebrating this outstanding accomplishment!

11th and 12th-grade students in Design & Illustration and Digital Media Lab were highly encouraged to enter pieces into Scholastic Art & Writing. This competition begins at the regional level (for Vermont, this is the state level), and Gold Key award recipients have their works move onto the national level.
Between the two programs, there were:
6 Gold Key Awards
9 Silver Key Awards
18 Honorable Mentions
With a total of 23 Gold Keys in the entire state, BTC took home more than 20% of the Golds! A true testament to the quality of work these students are producing.
