Pre-institute Assignments and Reading
Prior to the first day of the institute, please complete the following. The accounts will be used for workshops as well as the online component of this course and the reading will provide a foundation for discussions and activities.
Important: If you need assistance
completing any of these tasks please ask one of the instructors or Ann Dunn. To get assistance on the first day of the institute
arrive by 8:00 a.m. on June 23rd. Workshop time should not be spent
setting up accounts, recovering passwords, etc.
Course Instructors:

1. Sign up for a GEMS Moodle account (if you have never created one)
note: All FWSU teachers and administrators have been using Moodle for
vertical team communication, therefor you probably already have an
account.
Go to http://moodle.gemsvt.org
Click login
Click create new account
Complete form including e-mail address
You will receive an e-mail to confirm your account
Follow the link and log in to Moodle for the first time.

Sign up for a Gmail /Google Apps Account (if you have never created one)
Go to www.gmail.com
Click sign up for Gmail and
complete form
Sign into Gmail
Note: you should have also received an invitation to sign into your FWSU
gmail account. Please make sure you have completed this setup and have
both a school (FWSU) account and a personal gmail account. This is
needed because the school account does not yet have some of the tools
we will be exploring at the institute. If you have not received an invitation to FWSU Gmail/Googe Apps, please e-mail Ann Dunn adunn(at)FWSU.org
3. Complete the following required reading (keeping in mind the implications for your teaching)
