Final Project Guidelines

You will have supported work time throughout the week to begin working on a project that incorporates technology and best practices in your content area(s). As you develop the project, please keep the following in mind:

  • The lesson or student learning experience must utilize technology as a learning tool and reference the appropriate technology and content area grade expectations.

  • If you are a second year participant your tutorial, guide, or example for using 21st century tools in conjunction with best practices in teaching must be published to the web. You may plan to use your project with students, but your audience is teachers who may want to see how technology is best integrated into the curriculum.

  •  Must utilize instructional best practices such as inquiry learning, project-based learning, solving problems that matter, or differentiated instruction.

  •  The activity must be developed in sufficient detail for another teacher to carry it out with your instructions.

  •  You will be sharing your activity in the September follow up session.

What exactly will your submission look like?

Everyone's will be different and that is what we want, but here is some additional information.
There are 2 items to consider:
1. A write up of your activity which contains the essential information above. This can be posted to the Moodle forum.
2.  A product such as a website, Smart Notebook Lesson, Video, etc. This can be shared at the September meeting.

Everyone will produce a write up, but a product may not apply to all Institute projects.

Remember that you do not need to use your project with students prior to the September meeting.
