Minutes

 

Attendees: Doug Bergstrom, Carl Laroe, Irene Bonin, Jen Petrie, Julie Morin (HR).

                                    

1.     CALL TO ORDER

Chair Doug Bergstrom called the meeting to order at 7:30pm.

 

2.     EXECUTIVE SESSION: Ratify Teachers Negotiations Proposal

Entered Executive Session at 7:31pm.  Doug Bergstrom and Carl Laroe reviewed the proposal. No changes were made.  Exited executive session at 8:00pm.

 

Action: Jen Petrie moved to approve the following Georgia Teachers negotiations proposal, seconded by Irene Bonin. Unanimously approved.

Supposal for a two year contract

 

Year 1: FY11

  • Teachers remain frozen on step as of 6/1/2010.
  • Base remains at FY10 level ($32,000).
  • Health insurance co-pays remain at FY10 levels.
  • Dental insurance increases to $59 per month per FTE.
  • Increase student day by 15 minutes.
  • Horizontal movement of $1,600 per FTE.
  • Prep language (Article 4.6) last sentence changes to read: “the administration agrees to make every reasonable effort to schedule teachers’ preparation time in blocks of at least 30 minutes.”

 

Year 2: FY12

  • Teachers flat raise of $1,355 per FTE or step movement (GEA decision for entire group).
  • Base remains at FY10 level ($32,000) for new hires.
  • Health insurance co-pays increase to 16%.
  • Dental insurance increases to $60 per month per FTE.
  • Horizontal movement of $1,600 per FTE.
