Welcome to Mr. Hadd's web
page for 8th Grade Social Studies. Activities are centered around
inquiry, construction of knowlege, and sharing learning with
others. I have found that these activities engage students in
meaningful learning.
Listed below are several inquiry-based lessons I have developed over
the past few years.
Waterways
An interdisciplinary unit with activities that utilizes various www resources for research and inspiration.
Geographic Inquiry
This lesson gets students to engage in questioning. They formulate a geographic question about the United States and find the answer.
Travel the United States Geography Webquest (Note: not revised since 2004)
Students become trip planners and create a trip to sell by using the themes of geography to prove their region is the best to visit.
