You are here: Introduction

This webquest will merge an expanded knowledge of locations in the United States with the 5 themes to create a project that will demonstrate your learning.   If a review of the 5 Themes of Geography is needed, an excellent online version can be found here. A labeled U.S. Map can be found here.

The 5 themes of geography are a powerful tool for studying our country.

Location – Where is it?
Place – What type of Place is it?
Human-Environment Interaction - How do humans and the environment affect one another?
Movement – What is moving?
Regions-what ways are areas united and divided?

Each region of our country will have different answers to the questions asked above.  Those answers are the very items that make each region unlike the others.  Consider the following guiding question throughout this web quest.

What makes a region of the country unique?

Refer to the map below to locate the states in your region when assigned.
