About the GEMS Learning Center

Mission and Goal:  The mission of the GEMS Learning Center program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. This is done:

  • by providing intellectual and physical access to materials in a variety of formats to GEMS students and staff

  • by working to stimulate interest in reading, and using information and ideas

  • by collaborating with teachers to meet the needs of students

Hours: The GEMS Learning Center is open from 7:50-2:30.

Library Collection - The Learning Center has a collection of over 15,000 books and over 30 periodicals available for our GEMS students and staff. We also subscribe to numerous online electronic resources for GEMS students and staff to use.  

Access to our collection - Our Learning Center uses the Spectrum Library automation program to provide access to our collection.  Currently our collection can be searched by Spectrum only from within the GEMS building.
