Hear Ye! Hear YE

In just two months our students, your children, our young community members have been putting their best foot forward. Each seventh and eighth grade student is encouraged to perform some type of Community Service. Well, I must say that we are off to a great start. There are projects underway and projects that have been complete already. Performing Community Service is a lifelong endeavor and we should encourage our young community members to participate as much as possible.

Mrs. Crosby and Mrs. Mildrum's Advisory Groups (AG's) have teamed together and organized a Meals Marathon, a.ka.the Food Drive. The Meals Marathon will be running to November 16th. Please support these AG's by sending in canned goods with your child.

Mrs. Mildrum's AG has also conducted a five week reading buddies program with the kindergarten. They also designed, produced and sold Katrina Relief stickers with all of the proceeds donated to the victims of the hurricane.

Mrs. Hynes Advisory Group has managed most of the Katrina funds generated by other Advisory Groups. They have counted the money and have been working on letters to various charity organizations. Some students in Mrs. Hynes Advisory Group have also been working with kindergarten students.

Mr. Gulizio's Advisory Group conducted a bake sale and generated $80. The money was handed over to Mrs. Hynes and was donated to support rebuilding schools in New Orleans.

So there you have it! We have been working hard and serving our community. This will continue throughout the year. If you need some help with a project please feel free to call the school and ask for Phil Gulizio.
