Programs the PTA Routinely Funds

Three for Me: GEMS PTA is excited to announce a new volunteer program for the 2005-2006 school year -- Three for Me! PTA's have long realized the parent involvement is necessary to increase children's success at school. We encourage every parent, grandparent, and any adult that is involved in a child's life, to participate in the Three for Me program.

Three for Me…is a promise from you to your child and their school. You promise to volunteer three hours of your time at or on behalf of the school to your child by signing up for the Three for Me volunteer program.

ELF Program: The Environmental Learning for the Future (ELF) Program is serving all students in Kindergarten through fourth grade. In 2006, all children K-4 will be recieving the benifits of this wonderful program. ELF involves a lot of "hands-on" science activities that the children will remember. For more information contact an ELF Co-Coordinator or visit Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS).

Spaghetti Dinner: The Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser is held every year to enjoy a fun meal with family and friends!

Book Fair: The PTA sponsors book fairs in the fall and spring to support the Georgia Elementary & Middle School Library. The chair(s) help select and make arrangements with a book fair company; set up the book fair; recruit volunteers to staff the events; promote and advertise the event which include related student activities such as poster contents; and arrange possible evening events such as story telling to bring families to the fair.

Pancake Breakfast with Santa: The PTA has a Pancake Breakfast with a very special guest every December.

Yearly PTA Fundraisers

Our children benefit tremendously from the programs that the PTA funds each year. So please join the PTA and attend meetings when you can. Volunteer to help on a fundraiser whether you have a lot of time of just a little, every bit helps and it is all appreciated! Fundraisers and volunteer opportunities are ongoing throughout the school year.

Kathryn Beich Company: This is the one and only fundraiser the PTA will do. We have sold products from this company in past years with great success. Gift wrap, candles, candy, calendars and magazines are among the high quality, reasonably priced items. We are looking forward to our annual sale in September of 2006 that will help fund special programs, community events, teacher mini-grants, the Bolton ski bus, Recognition T-shirts, student planners and many more activites and programs. Price Chopper Tools for Schools: Price Chopper school savings cards can be used each time you make a purchase at Price Chopper in St. Albans.
