Science Initiative and Franklin West Supervisory Union Curriculum/Assessment
Development for K-8 Teachers A 4 credit, one-year
professional development program focusing on science content, acquiring
science-teacher skills, and improving general teaching practice. On-site, Best Practices in Science Course (2 credits) The
outcome for the school year workshops will be the finalized course
assessments for the K-8 Franklin West Supervisory Union Science Curriculum. One-week summer institute(2 credits) in
content-based science inquiry (examples of courses: watershed/geology studies, landscape ecology, botany, physics)
in June 2008. Dr.

will have an opportunity to apply the strategies of the Responsive Classroom
